The Second Russian Revolution
Three films for the definitive series on the collapse of the USSR, called 'the best BBC series of the decade' by the London Independent. These documentaries tell the inside story of Mikhail Gorbachev's political revolution with the only documentary interview with him as Soviet President. They also include scences with all the major figures from the last Soviet Politburo and the nationalist leaders who helped their people break away from the USSR and form new independent republics. The films trace Gorbachev's rise and fall from the first experiments with the policies of Glasnost and Perestroika through the collapse of Communism, the ascent of Boris Yeltsin and the end of the Soviet Union.
