The untold saga of Italians who rescued Jews and other refugees fleeing the Nazis in World War II. Featuring Gino Bartali, the Italian cycling hero who risked his life over and over to save innocent lives. Bartali, a Tour de France champion, carried false documents in the frame of his bicycle to help the secret underground organized by the Cardinal of Florence. The film follows three women who return to Italy after almost seven decades to thank those who risked their lives to save them from capture and death.
